This is the third release by Earthwork duo Breathe Owl Breathe. Nearly a year in the making, Canadian Shield starts off in chilling, snow-covered northern Michigan with “Shovel,” and travels landscapes through rivers and woodlands, with some of the freshest sounding music anywhere, richly layered with cello, banjo, uke, vibes to name a few, and closing with the haunting sounds of the common loon. Fox on a Hill assisted with executive production.
